At K’Awasis Early Learning and Childcare, we create a nurturing space where Cowessess children grow through Cree language immersion and culturally grounded play-based learning.
Our program weaves language learning into every moment of the day. Children are greeted in Cree each morning and experience the language naturally through songs, stories, play, and daily routines. We follow each child’s lead, observing their interests and extending learning through meaningful interactions that honor their developmental stage and cultural identity.
Cultural teachings flow through lived experience as children participate in seasonal activities, learn from Elders and community members, and work with traditional materials. We track each child’s development across language acquisition, social-emotional growth, physical skills, and cognitive abilities, providing additional support when needed to ensure every child thrives.
We partner closely with families throughout your child’s learning journey, sharing observations, celebrating milestones, and working together to support your child’s growth. Our goal is raising confident, culturally grounded children who are fluent in their language and connected to their community.
