Homefires
• Provide direct support in securing and maintaining housing
• Operate therapeutic and transition housing facilities
• Provide guidance and support on cultural and family practices within the home
• Offer advocacy in residential tenancies
A safe, stable environment is integral to a successful healing journey and a key component of CRBCL prevention and protection services. We prioritize keeping children within their family homes whenever possible; however, some cases require a different environment to keep children safe and help families to heal.
Homefires support facilities focus on children and families that have a higher level of need, when family care may not be an option. Homefires facilities are:
• fully staffed or monitored to offer individualized support
• culturally integrated
• accessible
Homefires promote kinship and togetherness in a culturally safe atmosphere, offering consistent, dedicated support so children, youth, and families can fully engage with CRBCL programs and services.
