Carbon Monoxide Safety

Blog
Carbon Monoxide
If you think there may be a gas leak:
Leave the home or area immediately.
Do NOT use switches, appliances, phones, vehicles, lighters, or matches.

Do NOT assume it’s already been reported. Always call the SaskEnergy Emergency Line at 1-888-700-0427 and update the CFN Department of Housing.

Nose: Natural gas is naturally odourless, but utility companies often add scents (such as the smell of rotten eggs, sewer, or skunk) to help detect leaks.
Eyes: You can’t see natural gas, but watch for vapour, ground frost, dead vegetation, bubbling water, or blowing dust.
Ears: A hissing or roaring sound may signal a leak.
